Save the Children has been working with partners at different levels to bring corporal punishment to an end in Vietnam.To address violence in schools, Save the Children has cooperated with the Ministry of Education & Training and a number of schools to introduce the concept of positive discipline as the main tool to develop a safe a child friendly environment. Children in Save the Children supported schools actively take part in developing a safe and child friendly learning environment. Core groups of children work in their schools/classes and in consultations with their classmates, develop activities they think useful to contribute to friendly atmosphere in the schools. Activities proposed by children include decorating classrooms/schools with positive disciplines messages, organizing activities to promote teamwork/team building; school fairs and festivals which allow them to build community.
