Case Study. Adopting a multi-pronged approach to child protection in Romania

Violence is a daily reality for millions of children around the world, affecting girls and boys of all ages, all social contexts, and all nationalities. The best way to deal with violence against children is to mobilize multiple stakeholders to bring about social change, a challenge taken up by Save the Children Romania. A key approach to preventing violence against children has been the establishment of the Centre for Emotional & Behavioural Education and five Parenting Centres that have greatly benefited young people, parents and professionals. This programme aims at building a society free of violence for children, promoting well-being and improving the quality of care for children and adolescents.
