Caring for Separated Children – An approach from Eastern Sri Lanka

This document details an approach for providing community-based care to children that have been separated from their parents in the context of war. This multi-faceted methodology, developed in the Batticaloa District of Eastern Sri Lanka, is aimed at supporting children within families in their own communities, and protecting them from the risks of institutionalisation. Sharing the lessons learned in implementing this approach could benefit others working to support children living in difficult circumstances.
