The language barrier in the classroom is one of the major challenges to effective education for refugee children in Uganda. The Education Consortium, led by Save the Children, with funding from Education Cannot Wait, has worked with a Language Task Team to look into a Bridging Programme for refugee children. In partnership with SIL Africa and researchers Barbara Trudell, Prossy Nannyombi and Lydia Teera a recommendation for the framework and design of such a programme has been presented. The summary and full report are available here.
