One of the biggest challenges in southern Africa is how to support the huge and growing numbers of orphans and vulnerable children within their communities. Based on recent research by Save the Children UK, this report identifies a number of ‘bottlenecks’ that are stopping the smooth flow of funds to support community initiatives. Bottlenecks and Drip-feeds makes a number of recommendations. These include more resources committed to meeting the needs of orphans and vulnerable children, and long-term commitments, or ‘drip feeds’, that enable community-based organisations to provide long-term support
