Ethiopia was one of 12 countries that met the target to reduce child mortality by two-thirds between 1990 and 2015. During the same period, the country also reduced maternal mortality from 1,250 to 353 deaths per 100,000 births. Despite these achievements, challenges remain. For example, maternal morbidity and mortality remain unacceptably high.

This report explores the barriers affecting demand for reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH) services in Ethiopia.
