This brief shares insights and findings from qualitative research conducted in Nairobi, Kenya using the Social Norms Exploration Tool (developed by the Passages Project) to explore root causes of provider bias in contraceptive services to adolescents by exploring what are health workers attitudes and beliefs about provision of contraception to adolescents? What individuals influence those attitudes and beliefs? And how are health workers attitudes and beliefs shaped by these influential individuals? This brief also shares recommendations for programs and public health practitioners to strengthen health worker capacity to provide adolescent responsive reproductive health services.
