Supplementary report to India’s periodic country report on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child submitted by The National Movement of Working Children (NMWC), a national federation of working children’s organisations in India. The alternate report, prepared entirely by children, puts particular focus on: (i) their present situation in the context of the realisation of their rights with regard to their protection, the provision of services and infrastructure and their right to participation; their own initiatives, which have helped them improve their lives and realise their rights; their review of the GOI Report; and their suggestions on what needs to be done for the realisation of their rights. The report reflects the perspective of the children on the problems they face, it includes critique of the India report and offers solutions and recommendations to encourage changes.
