Every 10 days a child is killed at the hands of their parents or carers. Thousandsm more suffer serious harm at the hands of those who are supposed to be caring for them. In a large proportion of cases, we know that the child abuse goes unreported, and many children are forced to suffer in silence.
This booklet is designed to help lay people recognise the signs of abuse, understand the seriousness of its consequences, and provide guidance for those who suspect a child is being abused. It was written for audiences in the United Kingdom, but the principles are transferable to a variety of contexts.
This document contains the text in both English and Arabic.
