Child undernutrition is the result of insufficient intake or absorption of nutrients and is negatively affecting their health, physical growth, and cognitive development. There are several immediate and underlying determinants for undernutrition such as caregiving practices, dietary intake or diversity, access to nutrient-rich food, health care and water, sanitation and hygiene services. This evaluation assesses the contributions of the World Bank to improving nutrition determinants and outcomes for children through its interventions during fiscal years (FY) 2008–19.
