WFP, United Nations World Food Programme
In February 2025, the World Food Programme (WFP) Sudan External Situation Report highlights the severe humanitarian crisis affecting millions. The conflict has displaced 12.9 million people, making Sudan the country with the highest number of displaced individuals globally. Among the 3.2 million people assisted, 89,000 school children received take-home rations, and 390,000 people were supported with nutrition rations. The report emphasizes the dire conditions in Zamzam camp, North Darfur, where famine has spread, severely impacting children. WFP’s efforts include scaling up operations to reach 7 million people by mid-year, prioritizing lifesaving food assistance and digital cash transfers to the most vulnerable, especially children. Despite operational challenges, WFP continues to adapt and provide critical aid to those in need.
