Wet nursing is the practice of one woman breastfeeding another’s child. In emergencies—when mothers are ill, absent, or unable to produce milk—wet nursing can be a critical, life-saving solution. Breast milk provides unmatched nutrition, immunity, and protection, making safe wet nursing a key intervention to ensure infants survive and thrive.
This flyer highlights three resources which equips responders, health workers, and communities with knowledge and practical tools to safely implement wet nursing, ensuring infants receive the nourishment they need when it matters most.
