This edition of “Barn”, the membership magazine of Save the Children, presents an article by Nadja Debove, on the reintegration process of girls and boys, child soldiers and other separated children, back into their families and home communities in the wake of the civil war in Sierra Leone. The article speaks about how family reunification, monitoring and following up on the situation and wellbeing of the returned children is an integral part of the whole social reintegration process, and how local communities are being sensitised and trained to provide protection for Sierra Leone’s war-affected children.
