This  video (5 min) provides an overview of the Maziko project. One in three children under 5 in Malawi is stunted due to chronic malnutrition. MAZIKO is a 5 year project implemented by Save the Children, GiveDirectly in partnership with the Government of Malawi and the International Food Policy and Research Institute in Ntcheu and Balaka District. The project provides monthly cash transfers to mothers and young children combined with social and behaviour change interventions to improve mothers and children’s health and nutrition during the crucial first 1,000 days of a child’s life (from pregnancy to 2 years). We would like to thank the MAZIKO donors, including the Power of Nutrition and its back donors UK AID and the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation; the Embassy of Ireland; private donors and other supporters who have contributed funding through Save the Children, Give Directly and IFPRI. Most importantly, we would like to thank all the communities. frontline workers and volunteers who are delivering the interventions on the ground
