Handicap International

This document is a methodological guide to conducting actions based on denunciation testimony. It has been elaborated on the basis of works of reference and enriched by the organisation’s experiences in the field. It is addressed to Handicap International teams both  at head office and in the field who wish to set up or participate in a testimony-based action.

This guide translates into operational terms the booklet Using testimony as a means  of protection, which sets out Handicap International’s institutional position on testimony. Testimony forms part of the mandate and the responsibilities of Handicap International as  a humanitarian actor like reaffirmed in the 2011 — 2015 strategy. Drawing on several experiences of using humanitarian testimony in the context of its interventions, Handicap International is seeking with this guide to firmly establish its methodology and to strengthen its use  of testimony.
