USAID Bolsters Data Collection to Assist Families in the Sahel

In the Sahel region, communities are especially vulnerable to food insecurity and malnutrition. The Household Economy Analysis program (HEA) has allowed for early response to these threats. USAIDs collection of data from households in the seven countries across Sahel has allowed for predictions of future instabilities, informing Save the Children and other organisations where efforts need to be focused to prevent food insecurity. In 2015 alone, the HEA program aided more than 14.2 million people.
