Update: Adolescent sexual and reproductive health rights

Adolescence represents a critical window of opportunity when young people are learning to make independent decisions and forming their own attitudes and beliefs. Adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights (ASRHR) programs take advantage of this window of opportunity to improve health and well-being for adolescents now and in their future adult lives.

Save the children ASRHR portfolio covers the full adolescent age spectrum. Save the Children implements programs designed to support the formation of supportive gender norms, support transitions through puberty, and provide access to information about sexuality and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services for very young adolescents (ages 10-14). As the latter transition into the later years of adolescence (15-19), Save the Children’s programs provide comprehensive sexuality education, connect adolescents to SHR services, and support married and parenting adolescents. 

This ASRHR Update shares country program updates and innovations from 22 countries and six member agencies supporting ASRHR.
