Violence against humanitarian workers has grave consequences for the international community and represents a concerning disregard for civilian lives. Humanitarian workers are increasingly targeted in the Syrian conflict, and it is crucial to remind the international community that without safe access for aid workers on the ground there can be no assistance to affected and vulnerable civilian populations.
