Schools, universities and other educational institutions closed in many countries as a preventative measure to stop the spread of COVID-19. While countries work to ensure the continuity of learning, they need to start anticipate and prepare for the reopening of schools. Despite the great challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, the situation also offers the opportunity to rethink the overall purpose, role, content and delivery of education in the long term.
This issue note covers key issues and lessons learnt for the education sector in the context of COVID-19.
