The “Understanding Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence: A Child-Centered Framework” brief distills findings from the full research report and offers a foundation for research, programming, and policy to prevent, mitigate, and respond to TFGBV against children. It outlines a conceptual framework that centers children’s rights, agency, and expertise, highlighting how they experience, understand, and navigate TFGBV. Drawing on research conducted with children and experts across five countries, the brief examines how children’s development, socialization, and identity exploration as well as influential actors shape children’s exposure and responses to this violence. It further details the gendered nature and impacts of TFGBV and shows how intersecting inequalities affect children’s experiences. The brief concludes with key recommendations to guide efforts to end TFGBV against children.
