Uganda Country Briefing

During 20 years of intense fighting between the Uganda government and rebels, hundreds of thousands of people fled their homes to escape death or abduction. Since 2002, most have returned, but face severe poverty. An entire generation has lost out on education and cannot pass on the knowledge, skills and values that will hasten recovery. While pressing the government to reverse the collapse of the education system, Save the Children also helps to bridge the resource gap.
