The number of internally displaced people by conflict and disasters globally is unknown. Most of the time so is information about their age. Internally displaced children are at high risk for abuse, neglect, violence and health issues, and require extensive support from governments and the international community. However, it remains difficult to address these risks as they are unaccounted for in global and national data.
In order to remedy this problem, this report presents the first estimates of children living in internal displacement triggered by conflict and violence at the regional and national levels.
