Thematic Report on Migrant and Refugee Children Prepared by the Special Representative of the Secretary General on Migration and Refugees

Prepared by the Special Representative of the Secretary General on migration and refugees, this thematic report focuses specifically on the situation of refugee and migrant children, including children within families as well as unaccompanied and separated children. This is a part of the ongoing work of the Council of Europe and the transversal action plan on refugee and migrant children.

The report addresses many fields of serious concern, as a result of fact finding missions to countries that have a particularly significant role in the migration route from countries of origin. The following areas are some of the few flagged: identification and age assessment, registration and guardianship, alternatives to detention, access to health services, etc.
