This case study on state response in Peru is part of the Humanitarian Policy Group initiative.  This research investigates to what extent the Peruvian state has assumed responsibilities for protecting and caring for their citizens in the aftermath of the 2007 earthquakes. It provides a background on this natural disaster , along with an introduction on the National Civil Defence System (SINADECI).
