This guidance note provides Save the Children and partners with practical direction on applying disability disaggregation in programme data using the Washington Group Question Sets (WGQs). It outlines what the WGQs are, their value and limitations, when to use them, and step-by-step guidance for implementation.
Targeted at staff across Global Teams, Country and Member Offices—particularly those involved in programme quality, technical support, research, monitoring and evaluation, and project management—the note applies to both development and humanitarian contexts.
Developed from work by Save the Children Norway and expanded by the Disability Inclusion Technical Working Group, it offers a detailed reference on disability data disaggregation, complementing existing Save the Children resources. As practices evolve, this document will remain a living tool, adapting to new insights and programme needs.
