Synthesis Research Report. State-building, Peace-building and Service Delivery in Fragile and Conflict-affected States

This synthesis report provides an overview of a research project and analysis from fieldwork in Nepal, Rwanda and South Sudan. The research question examined in this one-year research project is: How does the fulfilment of people’s expectations for services relate to their perception of the legitimacy of the government? The report first gives a brief background to the overall research programme, then goes on to present a summary of the key findings and evidence from the fieldwork. It closes by drawing conclusions resulting from analysis of the findings from the fieldwork linking these where relevant to the original literature review undertaken for this research.
