Save the Children (SC) believes that localisation leads to better outcomes for children. We are re-thinking how we engage with local partners to both co-create solutions and increase their access to transformative funding. We know that communities and local actors are – and always have been – at the forefront of sustainable development and humanitarian programming.

Local communities are best placed to respond to children’s needs because they bring specific skills, knowledge, access and ability to understand and adapt to the local context. This belief is captured in our Localization Policy and is the basis upon which our “Local to Global for Impact” vision for a Save the Children of the future is built upon.

SC NIGERIA & THE HUMANITARIAN FUND LOCALIZATION WINDOW

Save the Children (SC) Nigeria received a $500,000 USD award from the Humanitarian Fund (HF) Localization Window and engaged the following four local/national actor (L/NA) partners working in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe:
o Nkafamiya Rescue Mission (NRM)
o Future Resilience and Development Foundation (FRAD)
o Life at Best Development Initiative (LABDI)
o Concern on Climate Change for Community Initiative (FOURCi)
