Sudan has been in crisis ever since becoming independent in 1956. Civil wars and disasters have cost more than three million lives and forced four million people from their homes. They have caused major damage to Sudan’s education system – 50 percent of children never go to school. Save the Children is working with the government, school leaders, communities, teachers and students in Sudan to give conflict-affected children the education they need to protect them and give them hope for the future.
