Submission to the Committee on the Rights of the Child for the Day of General Discussion on “Resources for the Rights of the Child-Responsibility of States”. BfC – India’s Financial Commitments to the Child. India ratified the United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1992 and pledged to place Children’s Rights at the forefront of development and give greater priority to children’s concerns as part of its developmental programmes. Child rights cannot be fully realised unless the Government fulfill their child budget allocation and programme implementation. This report offers a brief analysis of budget allocations for the realisation of children’s rights and looks at the budget from a child’s perspective.
