Strengthening Health System Capacity for Nutrition Counseling

This brief provides an overview of the 1,000 days nutrition counseling course developed by USAID Nurture and the Center of Communication and Education for Health. The brief highlights skills for healthcare staff to provide effective nutrition counseling to pregnant women, new mothers, and caregivers of children under two years of age. It also discusses the development of the nutrition counseling curriculum, results and lessons learned, and recommendations for those developing similar nutrition counseling courses.
