This report lists the key features of Tanzania’s National Plan of Action to Prevent and Respond to Violence Against Children. It is the national response plan to the critical concerns identified by the 2009 Violence against Children Survey report led by the Government of Tanzania. The protection of children from violence and abuse requires a multi-sectoral approach, bringing together all the responsible ministries and development partners, including, justice and police, health, education, social welfare, civil society, community and media. With the support of all sectors and all members of society there is a very real opportunity for Tanzania to reduce sexual, physical and emotional violence against children.
