Stop the War on Children: Security for whom? (2025)

This is our ninth report in Save the Children’s ‘Stop the War on Children’ series. Eight years into reporting on how children are affected by conflict, the troubling reality is that more than 1 of 5 children in the world find themselves in contexts affected by conflict, with devastating consequences for their lives and their futures. 2024 also marks the worst year on record for grave violations against children for the third year in a row, with 41,763 violations verified, a 30% increase from 2023. This year’s report highlights how the current security paradigm is leaving children increasingly unprotected—and calls for urgent, collective action to put children at the center of peace and security efforts.
