The Status of Implementation of the Child Rights Convention in the Sudan

Supplementary report to Sudan’s initial report on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The AMAL Society’s “Child Forum” was launched in the year 1996 with the intention of opening dialogue between the authorities and the NGOs working in the field of children and their welfare. With this objective in mind, the forum organised several workshops and seminars to explain the motives behind the UNCRC and how it could be implemented in the Sudan under its cultural set-up and the prevailing laws and acts and to raise questions on the status of child rights in Sudan.
