An Information Note on Standards for Child Protection in Emergencies. The Child Protection Working Group (CPWG), which takes responsibility for coordinating the work of the Protection Cluster in the area of child protection, has decided to develop Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Emergencies (CPIE) programming, on issues such as family tracing and reunification, child friendly spaces, and the reintegration of children. The Standards, to be developed under the coordination of CPWG, Save the Children and Terre des hommes, are intended to: Improve the quality of child protection programming to achieve greater impact for children; Enable better communication and advocacy about child protection needs and responses, including to ensure adequate funding for the sector; Improve accountability within the child protection in emergencies sector; and Ensure coordination within the sector (and with other sectors)
