Save the Children Sweden
Save the Children Sweden (SCS) has been working together with the southern Sudanese people since the late 80’s in the refugee camps outside their country and as from 1994, SCS moved inside southern Sudan. Through its many programmes, SCS has focused on measures aimed at strengthening the promotion of children’s wellbeing and rights. In this regard, SCS strongly believes that strategic planning of future programmes has to rely on a consistent and well-documented analysis of the complex situation faced by children of southern Sudan.
The interest of Save the Children Sweden in conducting this analysis for southern Sudan is mainly three fold: first, to fill an information gap on the impact of child rights advocacy on children in southern Sudan; second, to highlight the plight of children of southern Sudan in their cultural, economic and social set up and finally, to suggest how some of the challenges facing children in southern Sudan can be overcome with various approaches.
