There is considerable research into the impact of violence on children’s psychological and physical health. Violence, as it is understood in this guide, refers to experiences of physical, sexual or emotional abuse, injury, exploitation or significant loss – or the threat thereof.
This six-module workshop is for children and youth eight years and older who have experienced or witnessed violence in their family, school or community. It aims to help children and youth develop the skills and resilience to respond effectively to fear and violence in their lives.
