Shadow Report on the 3rd periodic report submitted to the Committee on the of Rights of the Child – CRC

This report provides supplementary information on Ethiopia’s 3rd periodic report on the implementation of the CRC, and addresses the basic problems of the country relevant to the rights of the child. The extremely high percentage of children below 18 years, wars and political conflicts are some of the issues being addressed. The main problem dealt with in this report is, however, HIV/AIDS and the children who are orphaned as a result of the disease. It also gives evidence that children have been killed, tortured or imprisoned due to political conflicts in Ethiopia.
