SCI SUDAN – HEA Assessment of Needs: SD10 Blue Nile, Sennar & South Kordofan (2024)

This report provides a summary of a Household Economy Analysis (HEA) outcome analysis, carried out in May 2024. The analysis had three objectives:

i) Measure current year production and price changes in the SD10 Semi-Mechanised Rainfed Agriculture livelihood zone.

ii) Analyse the impact of these changes on household food and income access; and

iii) Calculate needs in the current year.

Needs were measured against HEA emergency thresholds and the MEB poverty line. The results show that across the zone, poverty worsened between October ’23 – September ’24 as measured by the MEB gap. The total MEB food and non-food gap was USD 706.8 million.
