SCI Malawi Learner Treatment Kit (LTK) Impact Brief

The Learner Treatment Kit (LTK) is a basic first-aid-kit available for school going children in primary schools during school hours. The primary purpose is to provide school-based health services and enable the learners to access testing and treatment for malaria and other minor ailments during learning hours at school. LTK successfully brought life changing services closer to children. Utilizing teachers as a resource to provide diagnosis, treatment and management of uncomplicated malaria, the LTK program reduced economic and financial burden for families and strain on the health system in Zomba and Machinga districts.
