The Market assessment was conducted from 15th of September to 7th of October 2022 in 19 Markets of 15 sampled communities of the 3 implemented Districts, 2 in Niassa Province (Cuamba and Mecanhelas) and 1 in Nampula Province (Nacaroa). Data collection was conducted by the Save the children and partners team. The Market assessment tools were contextualized to respond to 3 main objectives: 1) To access the capacity of the local markets (local traders selling education and other key materials related to girls education) to increase supply these materials in the local marketplaces, if there was an increase in demand from the local communities (including the project beneficiaries); 2) To assess the local marketplaces access for all groups amongst the project beneficiaries and their families; 3)and to identify the preferred modality of assistance for addressing barriers to girl beneficiaries’ enrolment and retention in primary school, amongst project beneficiaries and their families. The approach were designed such that in each community 3 questionnaires were applied (Trader, Key Informant and FGD Questionnaire). The Market Assessment covered 19 Markets from 15 communities (9 markets in Nacaroa District, 5 in Mecanhelas and 5 in Cuamba).
