In 2010, the United Nations Secretary-General launched the Global Strategy for Women’s and Children’s Health to accelerate progress towards achievement of Millennium Development Goals 4, 5, and 6. These goals addressed reducing child mortality, improving maternal health, and combating HIV/AIDS and other diseases.
This report measures progress of the Global Strategy in addressing those goals. Measurable successes have been made and these are highlighted. The report also mentions areas that require heightened mobilization and development; lessons learned from the past 5 years of Global Strategy work are reviewed and accompanied by further recommendations for future work.
