Save the Children US
This executive summery of Save the Children’s climate and health strategy is intended primarily to inform the programmatic quality of activities for health technical teams across Save the Children (SC) which are interested in addressing climate change and health. It is aligned with the SC Global Strategy 2022-24 and strategic goals and with the developing SC global framework on climate change.
Our goal is for this strategy to enable us to operationalize a systems-based multi-sectoral approach to develop, adapt and scale up evidence-based actions to yield health benefits through taking climate action; targeting social determinants of ill health; and, strengthening community engagement of youth, children, adolescents and women as part of inclusive, participatory processes for knowledge generation and decision-making. The strategy is organized to overcome the key barriers to effectively address climate, health and health equity together.
