Save the Children Somalia: 2025 Annual Report

In 2025, Save the Children Somalia reached 3.4 million people, including 1.62 million children, through a USD 102.2 million portfolio across 17 regions despite climate shocks, conflict, disease outbreaks, displacement, and funding cuts. Health, Nutrition and WASH programs reached 3.1 million people, including vaccinating 458,400 children and treating over 210,000 children for acute malnutrition. Education programs supported 256,402 learners through new classrooms, teacher support, and textbook distribution, while livelihoods interventions strengthened resilience for 122,878 people. Child protection efforts contributed to reducing FGM prevalence from 98% to 86% in targeted areas and supported Somalia’s ratification of the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child. With 27% of funding channeled through local partners and 86.9% of expenditure invested in programs, Save the Children continued delivering life-saving impact and building resilience despite significant operational challenges.
