Save the Children Progress on Localisation in East and Southern Africa Region

Shifting the Power has been a critical component of Save the Children’s (SC) Global Strategy 2022–2024. This will be achieved through devolving power to children and communities, establishing meaningful strategic partnerships and investing in local expert organisations that are advancing equality, and amplifying diverse marginalized children’s voices. SC’s emphasis on localisation is the belief that, by shifting greater capacity, resources, and ownership to national and local actors, will result in more timely, appropriate and effective outcomes for children and their communities and in fulfilling children’s rights.
