Save the Children International
There are currently 152 million girls and boys engaged in child labour that is mentally, physically, socially, or morally dangerous, according to the International Labour Organisation. Child Labour makes it difficult for a child to attend school, or limists their attendance, including those employed in largely unseen domestic work. Many children engaged in harmful work experience its worst forms – including slavery, forced and bonded work, child trafficking, illicit activities, and involvement in armed conflict and sexual exploitation.
Save the Children’s position on Child Labour explains our ambition to protect children from harmful work, refers to international standards and terminology, explains our approach on working across a continuum (ranging from harmful to decent work), and clarifies our position on minimum age for admission into employment.
