Save the Children Presentation All Children Reading Asia: Community involvement and parental support. Technical Session 2

A presentation by Save the Children for the All Children Reading Asia Regional Workshop held in Bangkok, Thailand, September 17-20, 2012. It reviews the challenges to early grades reading in Asia; what research says about improving children’s reading acquisition, the evidence on the importance of the home and parental involvement as well as challenges to home and parental involvement; how to use community action focused on children’s reading; initial results from reading programs that incorporate community action, and what Ministries of Education can do to engage in community action.
