The Kenya Ministry of Health increased testing capacity has led to 11,673 total confirmed COVID-19 cases. Total fatalities to date stand at 217.
About 95,000 people across the country have been displaced by floods and landslides according to OCHA. Also the number of counties reporting desert locust invasion has reduced from 28 to 2 counties: Marsabit and Turkana. Turkana is the epicentre with more than 200 hopper bands.
Save the Children Kenya office is responding to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic focusing on urban informal settlements, arid and semi-arid counties and the Daadab Refugee camp. We are implementing interventions focused on preparedness and response in health, nutrition, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), child protection, education in emergency and food security and livelihoods.
