Save the Children India
Save the Children is committed to making a significant contribution to the achievement of the health-related Millennium Development Goals, through its global EVERY ONE campaign. Scale up activities featured in this issue include Save the Children’s presence at the Jaipur Literary Festival to highlight the campaign activities, alongside authors, artists and participants, and its participation at the Indian News Television Awards, an event which brought together the who’s who of the media world. Key features of this issue of the EVERY ONE magazine are the stories about the Indian villages of Bihar and Jharkhand; an article by actress and activist Shabana Azmi, calling for investments in training and deploying more female health workers in India to save mothers dying in childbirth; and an interview with film director Gurinder Chadha, who visited slum areas across Delhi to support the campaign and raise awareness about child mortality in the country.
