Hvilken kunnskap trengs i skolen?

Lack of knowledge about Sámi topics in school – what is needed to improve the teaching?
What knowledge is needed in schools? And what must be done to make teaching better?
Many Sámi students experience traces of the Norwegianization policy in their everyday lives. Teaching in schools about Sámi culture sometimes gives an outdated and stereotypical picture of Sámi people. This is what students across the country tell Redd Barna (Save the Children).
Knowledge about Sámi history, culture, language, and contemporary life is often insufficient among both students and teachers.
The report is written for everyone who can influence and improve the teaching of Sámi topics in schools: teachers, school leadership, publishers, teacher education institutions, ministries, directorates, municipalities, and politicians.
