This paper was developed for the South Asian Initiative to End Violence against Children’s (SAIEVAC’s) 3rd Technical Consultation on Eliminating Harmful Practices Affecting Children in South Asia.
The information and recommendations in this paper are based on literature review of secondary sources, including academic studies, global evaluation, meta-analysis, reports produced by SAIEVAC & SACG member agencies, empirical studies conducted by international development organizations and government reports and records.
Information is provided on the subject of ending corporal punishment of children in South Asia. Background information is given as well as a review of contemporary research on progress.
